Lobby Fit-Out

back to projects

Overview

A ground-floor entrance hall fitted out with cabinetry, lighting and a stone floor, scheduled to run while the rest of the building was still being finished. The floor was the first thing laid and the last thing signed off, because everything else in the hall was measured off it.

The Challenges

A hall that other trades were still crossing daily, a stone floor that had to be laid to one level while the building around it was still moving, and lighting that could not be commissioned until the building had power.

The Engineering Solution

The hall protected and handed over floor-first, the stone templated to the finished slab rather than to the drawing, and the lighting set out off the stone joints so the fittings land on the grid the floor already has.
