Warehouse Lighting

back to projects

Overview

High-bay and task lighting for a warehouse, put on separate circuits so the general lighting could be dimmed or switched off without losing the light over the pick faces. The installation was commissioned on site rather than proved on a drawing, because a warehouse's illuminance is only real once the racking is standing in it.

The Challenges

A floor still filling with racking while the lighting went in, a high-bay layout that had to suit rack heights that were still changing, and a specification written for a building that was empty.

The Engineering Solution

High-bay on its own circuit at a spacing set to the final rack height, task lighting to the pick faces on a second circuit, and a measured illuminance survey taken with the racking in place rather than before it.

Design Elements

  • 01

    Structural Designing

Customized innovative structural solutions engineered for strength, stability, and resilience, and also focused on safety and lasting durability.

  • 02

    Interior Designing

Custom millwork, tailored cabinetry, and precision detailing engineered for aesthetic refinement and lasting durability.

  • 03

    Utility Work

Power, water, drainage and lighting routed and tested in place, coordinated against the structure so nothing has to be cut through after it is finished.

  • 04

    Fabrication Work

Structural steel, staircases and balustrades shop-drawn and finished off site, then bolted into position once the frame is true.
