Overview

A single dwelling built to a drawing rather than to a developer's standard, with the landscape done last so the planting was set out against finished levels rather than assumed ones. It was the only work on site, which meant every trade was sequenced by one person and no subcontractor was left waiting on another.

The Challenges

A site carrying one dwelling, so there was no second unit to absorb a delay, and a drawing whose window openings had to be set out from the structure before anything was ordered.

The Engineering Solution

The full setting-out drawn on site before the first pour, every opening measured off the frame rather than the drawing, and the planting scheduled after the final level so nothing was lifted to suit a wrong height.
